Musical Journey
As a vocal soloist, Medéa earned recognition through her rich and diverse musical career. Since 2006, she has been a member of the POPAS Band, founded by Marius Popa, a group distinguished by over 1,000 live concerts and nearly two decades of cover-band experience. Alongside Marius Popa, Amalia Uruc, Florin Șerban, Gabor Pal, Ágnes Soós, and Gabi Pîndici, Medéa performs adaptations of the most significant songs from the past 60 years, as well as original pieces that reflect the band's authentic artistic vision.
A defining moment in her career was her participation in the musical show "Povestea Leului Ra" (2022), an original production created by Marius Popa and director Cezar Ghioca. In this complex project, Medéa portrays three distinct characters: Tiramiso the Parrot, Iagoneril the Orangutan, and Didina the Seal, demonstrating her vocal versatility and her ability to bring different characters to life through voice and performance. The show was also adapted into a VR360 format, representing a state-of-the-art artistic production that merges original musical composition with advanced editing and animation techniques.
"Medéa – Maria Tănase Tribute" Project
One of Medéa's most personal and acclaimed projects is "Medéa – Maria Tănase Tribute," through which she pays homage to the incomparable Maria Tănase. Together with Mihai Nedea (piano), Ágnes Soós (double bass), and Marius Popa (percussion), Medéa sensitively reinterprets the gems of the national repertoire. The project intertwines the charm of traditional and lăutărească music with modern influences from jazz, blues, pop, and Latin sounds, all evoking the authentic feel of vintage vinyl records.
The show has been successfully presented in numerous cities across Romania and even reached Germany, where it was warmly received by the Romanian diaspora. The Germany tour concluded with great success, as the artists were welcomed with open arms in every city they performed.
Visual Art – Medéa's Mind
Beyond music, Medéa is also recognized as a visual artist through her personal project "Medéa's Mind." Her specialty is dotting art, a meticulously precise technique with which she creates unique objects. Each dot is applied with patience and contemplation until the work becomes "a little universe of her thoughts and moods."
For Medéa, this form of art is more than a mere technique – it is an authentic therapeutic practice. As she confesses, "Painting is therapeutic. Each dot contains my thoughts and feelings." Through this approach, she transforms the creative act into an active meditation, where imperfection becomes beauty and hand-crafted work acquires a special spiritual value.
Under the Medéa's Mind signature, she paints mandalas, jewelry boxes, personalized notebooks, and other decorative objects, each piece being unique and bearing the imprint of her current state and thoughts. This approach celebrates the beautiful imperfection of handmade art, offering a stark contrast to the standardization of industrial products.
